Please join us for our community Veterans Day Assembly-November 11th, 2019
The Columbia School District is hosting a Veterans Day Assembly on Monday, November 11. The event will be held at Columbia Central Jr./Sr. High School. There will be a welcome reception and a breakfast at 9 AM for all veterans in the cafeteria. The assembly will be held in the gymnasium at 9:30 AM.
In addition, the CCHS Key Club is providing community members with the opportunity to purchase a flag that will be displayed in front of the school in honor of any member of the armed forces. Please contact the any building office with questions.

Irish Hills Chamber of Commerce College and Career Fair
Columbia Central hosted the Irish Hills Chamber of Commerce College and Career Fair in October. We would like to thank the 46 colleges, 23 businesses, and 5 military branches who attended. In addition, juniors and seniors from Addison, Onsted, and Napoleon participated. This is the fourth year in a row Columbia Central has hosted this event.

CCHS Leadership Announcements-
The CCHS Leadership students are preparing for FORUM and the CANNED FOOD DRIVE on Friday, December 6th.

We are so proud of the Columbia Central Music Program!
Recently, 3 of our band students auditioned at Northwest High School for the MSBOA Michigan All State Band. If accepted these students will be performing with students from all over the state of Michigan at the January Michigan Music Conference in Grand Rapids. Congrats to Roland Rice, Logan Cripps, and Lorelei Mortimer on their efforts in preparing for this audition and good luck!
Our High School choir performed in the first annual Jackson College Fall Choir Festival. They performed alongside two other high school choirs as well as the new Jackson College Vocal Point Choir to showcase what they’ve been working on. Well done, Voices of Columbia!
Saturday School Session for the Year
Columbia Central will provide high school and junior high students the opportunity to attend Saturday School sessions to make up work for classes. There will be staff available to support students and to ensure a quiet learning environment. The dates and times for Saturday School are listed below. If your child is failing a class or struggling with missing assignments, please encourage them to attend. Students planning to attend must RSVP to the office and collect their assignment to work on the Friday before the planned session.

Congratulations to Hunter Fletcher for being chosen as the Most Teens Don't Ambassador representing Columbia Central in Washington D.C.!
A group of our 7th-grade students attended Challenge Day at Jackson College, Monday, October 28th. It was a great day for our students! The event helps students cope with several topics such as bullying, addiction, peer relationships, and stress. Our students supported one another with various activities throughout the day.
Columbia Central Athletic Update-
Football-The team ended the season 5 and 4 with a victory over Hudson.
Girls Golf-Elizabeth Tyndall participated in the MHSAA State Golf Tournament! The team earned 4th place at regional's missing the team state qualification by one place. They had a tremendous season and were first in the IGL conference!
Boys Soccer-The team had another exciting season competing ending with the District Championship game.
Volleyball-Volley for Hope was held last month. This annual event raises money for Breast Cancer Awareness.
Boys Tennis-The program has gathered so much enthusiasm this year with coaches, Mrs. Daniels and Mr. Lake. They had 18 players this year up from 4 last year. In addition, Mrs. Daniels has noticed an increase in overall excitement about tennis with players using the courts over the weekend and working on improving their skills outside practice.
Winter sports will begin in the coming weeks. Please attend events to help support our student athletes. Check the Winter Athletic Schedule below:
