Principal's Newsletter
March 2020
Note from the Principal's Desk
This month felt like it went by very fast. We had some very fun events including multicultural week, Read Across America and Turn Up the Heat. We have a lot of fun events coming up this month as well!
This will be my last principal's newsletter before I go out for the year. Please know you can always email me, however, my responses may be a little delayed. A huge thank you to everyone who has sent me well wishes, baby gear, diapers, and advice on surviving 4 kids. Definitely feeling the bulldog love!
Sincerely,
Kelly Eagan

Science Fair this Thursday!
This Thursday evening the Science Fair is the place to be! All the cool kids will be there thanks to WCEF and BV PTA! (BV's Science Dept. depends their funding.) If you are participating in the Science Fair you can set up your project in the Multi-Purpose Room after school (3/5). The Science Fair will begin at 6 pm. Doors will be open all afternoon but the official start is 6:00 and will go until 8:00-ish. You'll have time to wander around and see all the projects - there are currently 154 entered at this time. At 6:45 the 3rd Annual Everyone's Egg Drop will commence. High drama and whooping will ensue until the final egg is determined to be broken or intact. Awards will be distributed to the successful engineer team(s). Then, at 7:30-ish, we will prepare for the Glow Stick Extravaganza - a mass chemistry demonstration! And somewhere in between, we will present the Parade of Parent Science Professionals. (You'll be amazed at how big our science community is at BV.) Projects will remain in the MUR overnight for the following day's Classrooms Tour. It'll be a grand event!

The Buena Vista Auction Saturday, March 14th from 5:30 - 10:00 PM
I am counting down the days until my favorite BV social event of the year! Yes, I'll be there in my maternity flapper costume!
Tickets still available for this fun event. The Buena Vista Elementary PTA invites you to get glam and shake your fringe at our Roaring 20’s School Auction. Join us for an adult's only night of dinner, dancing, a silent and live auction and celebrating our wonderful BV community. Come as a flapper, come as you are, come as gangster or a silent screen star. It’s gonna be fun, not matter the dress just come celebrate and we’ll do the rest!
See you there! Trust us, it will be the Bee’s Knees!

Important forms for next school year
The next form will give you a chance to share any pertinent information regarding classroom placement next year. This form officially closes May 15 (the day after Open House) however the first round of student classroom placement meetings will begin on April 15th so my recommendation would be to complete this form prior to April 13th to have your request included in this meeting. Please note I am the only one who sees this form, however, student exclusion requests, as well as requests to be placed with certain students, are shared with teachers to assist in making classrooms.
