The Giver
By: Lois Lowry
In The Giver by Lois Lowry There are many similarities and Differences within the book and the movie. Even though there are many things that stayed the same there is still a bit of differences. The effect this gives the audience is that it shows the authors perspective compared to a producers perspective on the subject of The Giver.
Some of the diffences in the book and the movie resolve around Jonas and his life within the book and the movie. One of the things that changes with Jonas and his peers is the fact that they were 12 in the book and 16 within the movie. The effect this gives within the movie is that at the age of 16 you are entering your young adult life and gaining responsibility and starting to fend for yourself. While being 12 within the book this shows that Jonas is almost entering teenhood which shows less maturity. Also the injection process is different in the book and the movie in the book they take a pill but in the movie they get a quick injection which makes the injection process go quicker and not seem as such a big deal.
This is what everyone else in The Giver could see rather than the giver and the reciver.
What the giver and the reciver could see.
Theme
The theme of the movie and the book is to think outside of the box and to dowhat you think is best for you and your community
Dramatic Irony
The Dramatic irony within the book and the movie is the fact that the people dont know about the giver and the recivers gifted abilities like seeing colors and emotions.
