About The Book
My book is called Seconds. The author of the book "Seconds" is by Sylvia Taekema. The genre of the book is action and aventure. The type of book is fiction.
In cross country Jake does everything right, he eats the right food, trains like mad and reads things about running leaving no time for his family and friends. But no matter how hard he tries he can never outrun Spencer Solomon. Determent to take the lead he trains even harder. When Jake is invited to join the Diamond Running Club, he thinks he has another chance to train harder. Instead with the help of his coach he begins to recover the reason why he used to love running.
I would rate this book four out of five stars because it teaches you that sports is not just about winning. It matters only if you are having fun or in team games when you are cooperating with your teammates.
My favorite part is when Jake's coach explains to him that running is not about always winning. I like this part because this is the part when Jake sees that he is running the race just because he wants to win. I also like this part because it teaches me, sometime I want to beat my competitors so badly I get carried away.
I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys sports especially running. If you want tips about what you should eat or how much to run each day the book will tell you everything you need to know.
In the book Jake drinks pickle juice because he says it helps with running. No offense Jake but I think pickle juice is disgusting.
