Back in the swing!
Math: We have begun Ch. 3. Please be sure to review multiplication and division facts at home, too:) ConnectEd. fact dash and xtramath.org are great online free fact fluency sites to access.
Writing: We have begun the editing process on our 5 paragraph expository essays.
Reading: As we review and practice using strategies to make meaning of reading, we are also focusing on setting goals for ourselves as readers. This includes choosing books that engage us and committing to using independent reading time to grow ourselves as readers.
Social Studies: We learned about Eric the Red (boo, hiss) and how that led eventually to European exploration. Next week we will begin our adventure in simulating the life of a real explorer!

Continuing on with a favorite author
These students wanted to continue reading about Fudge and Peter, so they paired up with each other to read SuperFudge by Judy Blume.
Students are encouraged to pair up with a buddy who has similar reading interests. It is always fun to share a great story!
Achieving Reading Goal
Students set goals during independent reading and celebrate when they are achieved!
