Team Hill Weekly Update

DFES Title One, Oct. 15, 2015

Back in the swing!

It was so good to be back together again! We have had a great week and are working hard learning and growing. Here's a look at what we've done and where we are headed:

Math: We have begun Ch. 3. Please be sure to review multiplication and division facts at home, too:) ConnectEd. fact dash and xtramath.org are great online free fact fluency sites to access.

Writing: We have begun the editing process on our 5 paragraph expository essays.

Reading: As we review and practice using strategies to make meaning of reading, we are also focusing on setting goals for ourselves as readers. This includes choosing books that engage us and committing to using independent reading time to grow ourselves as readers.

Social Studies: We learned about Eric the Red (boo, hiss) and how that led eventually to European exploration. Next week we will begin our adventure in simulating the life of a real explorer!
