-Question-If given different amounts of sugar (in soda), which amount makes you run the fastest?-
Soda is a common object we see today. I mean, its lined on shelves in stores, in refrigerators, and probably the most common–vending machines.
Besides the fact that soda is common, it also has high amounts of sugar. But have you ever wondered what happens to that sugar?
It all starts in your mouth. Salivary Amylase breaks down the sugar and brings it to the stomach. The stomach's acid break down the sugar even more, and brings it to the intestines. Here's where things really start to heat up. Enzymes in the stomach break down the smaller pieces of sugar into monosaccharides, which then are transferred into the blood and used for energy.
I personally believe that the highest amount of sugar will give you the most speed.
Before we move on to the Experiment, we need to gather our materials, like.....
