Citizens of the Month
Celebrating with our Citizens of the Month is one of my favorite things I get to do each month. We have amazing students and I am honored I get to recognize them and celebrate with the students and their family members. Here is the group of December Citizens of the Month we recognized last week.
Grant
Today I am collected a $500 2016 Educational Alliance Math and Science Grant from our local Mobil station that is given to Gatewood to support mathematics and science. Exxon Mobil Foundation has supported Gatewood for many years and I am pleased they have given us this gift again this year.
Congratulations Monica!
Congratulations to Monica Grubb who applied for and was selected to attend the 2017 Honeywell Educators at Space Academy (HESA) at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center (USSPC) in Huntsville, Alabama, June 14-20, 2017. Since 2004, over 2,575 educators from 55 countries and 52 U.S. states and territories have graduated from the program and now we have one of our own colleagues participating. Congratulations, Monica!
MESPA Winter Institute
I will be attending the Minnesota Elementary Schools Principals' Association Winter Institute in Bloomington, Minnesota, Wednesday, February 1 - Friday, February 3, 2017. I'll be available by phone, text, email, and Twitter as needed.

Paraprofessional Recognition Week
Governor Dayton has issued a proclamation naming the week of January 23-27, 2017, as Paraprofessional Recognition Week. This week gives schools an opportunity to thank the 20,000 paraprofessionals who provide services in multiple settings in Minnesota’s schools. Thank you to our amazing paraprofessionals who support students, families, and collegues every day!
