Come & Get It!
Distance Learning Resources & iPad Distribution
This Friday, April 3rd in the STAFF LOT (are you so excited?!) #rebels
Hey Panthers! We are all so excited to start distance learning with you. We have really missed each one of you over the past few weeks. As we prepare for school to start back up on Monday, April 6th, we have a job for you. Team Penn needs you to come pick up your distance learning supplies. Please follow the steps below to make sure you are ready for our drive thru system on Friday, April 3rd! Our goal is to get everyone their supplies in a safe and healthy way!
Please remember, this is a DRIVE THRU system ONLY. Although we want to give each of you running jump hugs, all parents and students MUST stay in their cars at all times.
1. Before you leave home, make a sign with your child's name and teacher's name. Display this sign on the passenger side window or dash of your car.
2. Come to campus at your designated time. We have a lot of bags to hand out and they will all be sorted by last name.
10:00 - 10:45 A - F
11:00 - 11:45 G - M
12:00 - 12:45 N - Z
3. When you arrive on campus, pull forward as far as you can into the parking lot.
4. Pop your trunk! We prefer trunks over windows. What a great excuse to clean that junk out of your trunk! #yourewelcome We will bring all bags to you and place them in your trunk or truck bed.
5. If you are unable to open a trunk from inside your car, please pull into a parking spot. A member of Team Penn will bring your bag to you and place it on the hood of your vehicle. Please do not get out of your car until we have left.
6. Once you have your materials, wave & blow kisses to all your favorite members of Team Penn & Penny of course as you safely drive out of the parking lot by turning RIGHT. It is important to pay attention and DRIVE SLOWLY as members of Team Penn will be moving around the parking lot delivering bags to families.
7. When you get home, please help your child find a great space for their distance learning materials. Unpack your bags and enjoy a few surprises inside! Please let your child's teacher know if you have any questions about your bags.
We can’t wait to see you on Friday!
With love,
Team Penn
Please note, at this time, this is our only scheduled resource pick up opportunity. If other distribution dates are needed, they will be communicated at a later date. If this time does NOT work for your family, please work with your child’s teacher to find an alternate solution
Looking For Opportunities to Help Our Communities?
Many of you have asked what you can do to help our communities during this challenging time. Up until now, we haven't really known what was needed. However, in recent days, some pretty serious needs have been brought to our attention and we’re ready to activate our #PennVillage to help us out!
As humans, it’s natural that we all are processing this pandemic in different ways. It’s important to remember that at Penngrove, we will always share many opportunities for you to be a "helper". One of the reasons we like to share so many ways to connect is because each family has different preferences, different passions, and different times in which they can be helpers. If this is a time where your family is overwhelmed, stressed and simply cannot handle one more thing, PLEASE, lean into that and take a step back. We support you. If your family needs an outlet, a way to help others, or is feeling like generosity is something you can afford at this time, PLEASE, lean into that and step up. We support you.
THERE ARE THREE MAIN THINGS WE NEED RIGHT NOW
1. Gift card donations to grocery stores for Penngrove families who are struggling financially or have experienced recent lay offs. As indicated by the responses from the family survey in our last couple Penngrove Press Newsletters, we have a number of families who could use some groceries and essentials. If you can provide a gift card to one of the following places, we would be grateful. If you prefer to donate cash, Ms. Fadeji will purchase gift cards on your behalf.
Safeway
Smart and Final
Food Maxx
Walmart
Target
2. Medical Supplies for Penngrove families to take to their places of work, specifically those healthcare providers working the front lines.
These supplies include:
Masks - n95 or any mask
Disposable gloves (all sizes)
Disposable meal trays
Shoe covers
Hair covers (like shower caps, NOT hair nets)
3. Handmade cards for nurses to be delivered by Penngrove families working in the healthcare field. Please help your child make as many cards as possible to thank nurses (and other healthcare professionals) for all their work, energy, and for taking care of our community members.
ALL ITEMS SHOULD BE PLACED IN A BAG OR ENVELOPE AND DROPPED OFF ON FRIDAY AT PENNGROVE. THERE WILL BE A HUGE SIGN FOR DONATIONS JUST BEFORE YOU EXIT THE PARKING LOT.
