Sneak Peek Tuesday!

Please join us for our Washington Sneak Peek! Parents and students are invited to come meet their teachers and check out their classrooms on Tuesday, August 16th from 2:30 to 3:30 PM. If you have school supplies, you're welcome to bring them.

Washington Elementary Back to School Parent Breakfast

Wednesday, August 17th, 9-11am Hyde Perk Coffee House will be offering coffee, mimosas and breakfast burritos from neighborhood favorite, Parrilla Grill, for $25 with all proceeds donated back to Washington Elementary.


We are hoping to have a good headcount by the 13th and encourage you to sign up and pay by that date so we can plan food and drink accordingly. Of course, we will not turn anyone away if you sign up later or show up the day of. Contact Brooke Amidei at brookeamidei@gmail.com with any questions.

School Meal Update for the 22-23 School Year


School meals were free for all students during the SY 21-22. Congress has not extended these waivers for SY 22-23.


*Starting in August 2022, students will be charged for meals based upon their family application status.*


If you think your family would qualify for free or reduced priced meals, you are encouraged to complete an online meal application - CLICK HERE for more information.

BSD Meal Payment Options

*CLICK HERE.* MySchoolBucks is a secure online payment system that can be used to fund student meal accounts with a debit or credit card. Make one-time payments or set up autopay. Cash or checks are also accepted in the cafeteria or school office.

Communication

In order to make sure we have your most current contact information, please take a few minutes to update your Infinite Campus account. Additionally, health information will need to be collected. Directions are below:


Parent Annual Infinite Campus Update Instructions

  1. Log into your Parent Portal account. If you do not know your username and password, please contact Kris Barrett in the Front Office for assistance.

  2. Once logged in, click on ‘More’ on the Index, then on ‘Annual Update’.

    1. This will open a new tab listing the student’s information. Click ‘Begin’

  3. Verify your address, contact information and emergency contacts.

  4. Lastly, verify all of the information for your student including your technology authorization:

    1. 1 to 1 Device Responsible Use and Non-Refundable Damage Deposit (optional)

  5. Once all is saved successfully, submit.

Busing

Bus routes should be available in IC, and parents should look for an email from the Transportation Dept. about checking bus schedules in the parent portal, new information about Durham's Bus Tracker App.


To find this information, log-in to the Infinite Campus portal, click on the 'More' tab and click on the 'Busing' tab.


Make a note of your student’s bus number(s). This is helpful information to have if you need to contact Durham School Services Dispatch Office at 208-854-5230 to locate the bus, missing items, or report an absence.

Boise School Board Trustee Election - September 6, 2022

Boise School Board Trustee Election


On Tuesday, September 6, 2022 polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. throughout the Boise School District as the 2022 Trustee Election is held. To be able to vote in the election, you must be 18 years of age, have lived in the Boise School District for 30 days and be registered to vote in Ada County. Completed Absentee Ballot request forms must be received by the Boise School District by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 26, 2022. Visit the 2022 Trustee Election website to learn more, including candidate profiles, sample ballot and polling locations. *Washington Elementary will be a polling site.*

Crosswalk on Harrison Blvd

BSD contracts crossing guard services with United Security. There is currently a vacancy at Harrison and Lemp and are looking to hire. If you are interested in applying, or know someone who is, please reach out to United Security. Call United Security Systems for application details.208-336-7770. Pay starts $16.00 per hour.


*In the meantime, coverage will be provide in limited hours until filled.*


Please remind your child to wait for the Crossing Guard before crossing Harrison Blvd, especially in the morning. There can be a high amount of traffic during the morning commute and waiting for the crossing guard is imperative for crossing safely.

To learn more, log on to www.boiseschools.org, and go to Parents & Patrons > Parent Information > FERPA Form. You may also pick up a FERPA form at school, or call the Clerk of the Board at 208-854-4123 to obtain a copy of the FERPA form.
