Town of Sunnyvale - June 3, 2022

Goff departs Sunnyvale

Assistant Town Manager and Director of Development Services Charles Goff has accepted the Assistant City Manager position for the City of Richardson. His last day with the Town was June 3.


Charles joined the Town of Sunnyvale in September 2020. Prior to Sunnyvale, he served at the Town of Addison in a variety of positions. The Town appreciates the wealth of knowledge and experience Charles brought to and shared with Sunnyvale.


The Town wishes Charles the best of luck on his future endeavors in Richardson!

Summer Reading 2022: Oceans of Possibilities!

The Doris Padgett Public Library's Summer Reading Program kicks off on Wednesday, June 8. The schedule for next week's activities is listed below.


Wednesday, June 8 - 10:30 a.m.:

  • Dive into the ocean with the Library's weekly story time and meet some brave Aquatic Explorers!


Thursday, June 9 - 2 p.m.:
  • Craft Day. Come explore the depths by making your very own Yellow Submarine!


Friday, June 10 - 2 p.m.:
  • Legendary performer Margaret Clauder brings Oceans of Fun into the depths of the Library. Join Captain Maggie and her friends as they explore the ocean...and the power of your imagination!

Mosquito dunks

With warm weather, comes mosquitos and the Town would like to remind its residents that we have mosquito dunks available to you at no cost. Please visit the front counter at Town Hall to pick them up.


Additionally, remember to utilize the ‘4Ds’ to reduce the risk of West Nile virus:

  • DEET - All Day, Every Day: Whenever outside, use FDA approved insect repellents that contain DEET, picaridin or lemon-eucalyptus oil.
  • DRESS: Wear long, loose fitting, light-colored clothing when going outdoors.
  • DRAIN: All areas of standing water in or around your home where mosquitoes can lay their eggs.
  • DAWN, DAY, and DUSK: Limit your time outside as mosquitoes will bite at any time - day or night.
