Hutch's Holler
October was a busy month for our 6th grade Leadership Group. The leadership group is now selling treats and drinks every Friday from 3:20 – 3:35. Each item is $.50 and all proceeds go to our parent volunteer group, Home and School. Home and School helps finance field trips, parties, and teacher supplies. So, all proceeds directly benefit our students.
On October 10th, they did a community project at the Cloudville Park. This project consisted of picking up trash, cleaning the entry way, leveling the rubber mulch, and planting over 200 tulips. The project also included touching up the equipment with new paint but the weather was too damp and cold to paint. The painting part of the project and more mulch leveling has been postponed to a later date. Some of the leadership group came in on their own time to create Red Ribbon Week posters. The leadership group is also in charge of handing out treats to students and teachers who participated in red ribbon week theme days.
Mr. Hutch also meets with students individually and in groups. If you would like him to meet with your child, he can be reached at brandt.hutchinson@usd333.com

Box Tops are a great way to help earn a little extra money for our school. We accept them all year round. Thank you to all the parents that helped cut out all those Box Tops! Our next Box Tops competition will be in March 2020!
Downloading the Box Tops app makes it much easier to collect points without having to cut out the labels or saving them to bring to school.

6th Grade Hero Wall
Grant R wrote:
Lane Frost is my hero because he was nice and kind. He won the 1978 WRANGLER NFR bull riding. He passes away at Cheyenne Frontier days in July on a rainy day, muddy championship on a Sunday. He placed 2nd in the championship. He died when he made a ride on Takin Care of Business and he stepped on him and trampled him. A broken rib punctured a major blood vessel. He got up and waved for help and then fell to his death. Lane Frost died when he was 25. Lane was from Lane, Oklahoma. He was born on October 12th, 1963. He married Kelly Frost in 1985.
