Donna Wright Named WCH Volunteer of the Month

West Cypress Hills is very fortunate to have fabulous volunteers. Our volunteers spend many hours working to raise funds for our school, they sponsor special student activities, and, in general, they make West Cypress a great place to be. Thus far this school year, our West Cypress volunteers have logged in over 10,700 hours in service to our school.

In appreciation for their service to our school, we like to take time to shine the spotlight on some of our volunteers and the work that they do for us. The West Cypress staff members nominate these volunteers to be recognized as our “Volunteer of the Month.”

Donna Wright has been named WCH Volunteer of the Month for April 2017 because she:

· Is not afraid to dress up in fun costumes at our events,

· Eagerly assists all teachers with any tasks,

· Decorates our classroom areas,

· Serves as our Community Outreach Liaison for our PTO Board,

· Runs errands for our teachers,

· Has logged about 220 hours of volunteer service to our school this school year,

· Helped us set up classrooms before our school year began, and

· Is always smiling.

School Arrival Time

We recognize that mornings are hectic and many of us are still recovering from Spring Break! Lately, we've had many late arrivals (students should be in class by 7:40) and this makes for a difficult start to the day for both students and teachers. Our doors open at 7:20 and we encourage you to beat the rush and arrive early. After 7:30, this seems to be when traffic starts really backing up. We encourage you to leave a few minutes early, carpool, and take advantage of our morning bus routes (for eligible riders). This beautiful weather is also a great excuse to walk or ride your bikes to school!

Please let us know if you are having difficulty with morning routines. We are here to help and want all of our students to arrive feeling ready to tackle their day of learning.

We appreciate all you do parents! Thank you for helping make our mornings run smoothly for your children.

WCH Reflections Survey

Please share your ideas, your concerns and any information that will assist our staff in serving the needs of our learning community.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and suggestions!

Click here to complete our survey and share your thoughts. We intend to share the results with our leaderships teams as we make plans for campus improvements. We sincerely appreciate you taking the time to provide us with your feedback.

This is a great opportunity to enjoy a fun family dinner while also supporting our school. Chick-fil-A gift cards are available, too, and make great gifts for friends and family. If ordering inside, be sure to put your receipt in the WCH box. If zipping through the drive-through, please be sure to tell them that you’re there in support of the WCH Tigers!
