COVID Case Update: 12 January 2022
Here are our COVID numbers from the Monroe, Livingston, and Ontario County Departments of Public Health:
Students and staff in isolation:
- Lima Primary School positive cases: 16 students of 275 attending and 2 staff positives to report.
- Manor Intermediate School positive cases: 17 students of 601 attending and 3 staff.
- Middle School positive cases: 43 students of 487 attending, and 3 staff..
- High School positive cases: 44 students of 683 attending, and 6 staff.
Change in Test to Stay: With the community rate ranging near 20% (school rate is less than 6%), and with the NYS health department stopping contact tracing the District is changing Test to Stay. We will continue to work in concert with parents if they would like us to screen their student for COVID-19, if we have signed permission, and tests available. The same remains true for staff.
Return to School after COVID-19: For many students and staff, after a five day isolation or quarantine where they are asymptomatic at the end of five days or if symptoms are resolving, isolation ends and the individual should wear a well-fitting mask while around others if they intend to return to school. If symptoms are not resolving, or the patient is moderately-severely immunocompromised they should continue to follow the standard isolation and quarantine protocols of ten days. We encourage families to follow advice from their family physician.
Thank you for everything you are doing to keep everyone safe and healthy.
