NGSS PRESENTATION TO THE BOARD
On Tuesday, March 8th I presented an overview of the NGSS to the Board of Education. I'd like to thank everyone for the feedback you gave as I developed it, and for all your hard work as we adopt these standards.
You can see the presentation with audio below (warning - the audio is not great, I just used my phone).

TECHNOLOGY SETS THE SHOWCASE STANDARD!
If you haven't seen it yet, make a point to visit the MHS showcase in the front of the building. The Technology department has created a very unique showcase - great job!. MHS Science Teachers are scheduled to show off our department awesomeness in May - let's start thinking of ideas (and I'm sure our technology colleagues would help!)

NEXT DEPARTMENT MEETING
Due to the "Friends of Education" MEA event, our next department meeting is not until March 28th.
At that meeting we will be continuing our curriculum work, with science beginning to outline the until plans based on your gap analysis and performance expectation alignment. Please discuss this with your content area partners so that we can make the most effective use of our time!
I know it seems like a ways away, but it will be here before you know it!
