1F Weekly News
What's been happening in the land of learning?
Hello Everyone,
It's hard to believe that we are at the last week of school!
I just want to start this newsletter with a thank you for all the support you as parents have shown our class and me over the year. It has been a very big year and none of us could have learned as much as we did without your care and support! Also, a special thank you to our room mom Ms. Shua'a for all her efforts in coordinating and planning to provide lovely holiday parties for our class.
On a personal note, all the gifts both from the class and from individuals for myself and for my new son are deeply, deeply appreciated. I am lucky to know such a generous group of families.
As we wrap up the year and get ready for vacation, please be advised that if you would like summer work for your child we have a host of online resources listed on the grade 1 NVS as well as here at the library's online resource page. If you need log in information for your child for RAZ KIDS or Myon please contact me before the end of the school year. I will not consistently be available over the summer, nor will I necessarily have access to the students' information. I will also be sending home a list of Math journal prompts that students and families can pick and choose from for a little bit of problem solving and communication practice over the summer.
Here is just a little more information to make sure we end the year well =).
Please keep an eye on your child's backpack. We will begin sending home portfolios and other work that has been kept in class, so they may need to empty their backpacks each night (lest they get very heavy!).
Please also keep an eye on your email for a notice regarding our Ramadan Schedule. Once the holiday has been announced, elementary students are asked not to arrive at school before 8:45, and gate 6 will not be open until that time. Students will be dismissed at 2:30. Trilogistics will be in contact with families regarding bus schedules.
Tuesday will be a full day of classes, and Thursday will be a 12:00 noon dismissal. Report cards will also be sent home with students on Thursday.
Here are the final days of our ABC countdown!
May 29 - Visit Second Grade Day !!
May 30 - Wacky Tacky Day (come to school in wacky tacky dress!!)
May 31 - X-change autographs day (bring your year books if you ordered one)

Thank you for all your time and support !
