Hello, Folks.
I want to say a special thank you to all of our wonderful parents who helped prep the auditorium for our Gala and to those who attended and contributed to the event. It was a wonderfully successful evening in support of our mission of educating all children who desire an innovative, bilingual, Catholic education in the most diverse school in the Seattle Archdiocese. We are finalizing all of the revenue and expenses for the evening, so we will have a fundraising total available for you next week. Once again, thank you and I hope that all of our guests had an outstanding evening. One other item...this Friday ends Trimester 2. Can you believe it? That means that report cards will be coming soon and parent-teacher conferences are right around the corner (March 13/14). Please scroll through the entire newsletter, as there is a lot of important info, but make sure you find the links below to sign up for conferences. These are not mandatory and can be requested by either teachers or parents. If you would like one, please click on the link. If a teacher needs to meet with you, they will reach out to request you sign up.

Gala 2019: An Incredible Evening!
Very Important Upcoming Items:
Wed, Feb. 27th - Communication envelopes go home
Thurs, Feb. 28th - Pay2Dress ($2 per student to wear “free dress” in support of our NPH orphans, Brayan and Kenia). Students can wear spirit gear or uniforms for free.
Fri, Feb. 29th - All School Mass at 9 am in the auditorium
Next Week:
Wednesday, March 6th - Ash Wednesday Mass at 9 am in the school auditorium. Because of this, we will NOT have a school mass on Friday, March 8th.
Sign Up Now for Parent-Teacher Conferences
Book Fair!
Join us for the spring Book Fair. It will be held in the portables in back of the school on Wed and Thurs, March 13th and 14th from 12 pm - 5:30 pm. Our spring goal is to reach 313 books sold or $2,500 in sales. This can be done at the event or online. You can even share it out to friends and family through FB and we will get the proceeds if they use the link below!

Spring Read-a-Thon
The Read-a-Thon forms went home a few weeks ago. Hopefully, your child/ren has/have gotten pledges and have been reading away! The pledges are due next Thursday, March 7th. Please turn in at least $100 in pledges for the Read-a-Thon. Any outstanding pledges will be billed out on the April statements.
As a celebration of reading and Dr. Seuss, we will have a special pajama day on Thursday, March 7th. Students will be able to dress in pajamas and we will have special events in the classroom, as well as a Dr. Seuss themed photo booth for the kids! Thank you to Ms. Sofia Zapata for her work on this!
Spring Fling: Are You Signed Up?
The Spring Fling is coming up on March 16th at 5 pm in the school auditorium! Thank you to Mr. Tomas Ramos for putting everything together on this. Once again, this year, Mr. Ramos is planning to offer this wonderful event free of charge. In order to do that, we need to have people volunteer to bring/donate goodies (and help with set-up and clean-up). Snow Day Make-Ups??
In accordance with state law (https://www.sbe.wa.gov/faqs/instructional_hours), we are required to have either 180 school days or a minimum of 1000 instructional hours (to include recess, but not meals) each school year. Due to the recent snow events, we have dropped below the 180 days. Having run all of the numbers to this point and the projection of hours going forward, however, we are currently projecting 1105.32 total instructional hours for the year. Assuming no other major interruptions to our schedule, we will be fine and not have to make up any snow days/hours.
