New invention could be key to core

The key
Scientists are have claimed credit for designing a drill that would be able to reach the Earth's core. They are claiming the secret to their design was the drills flexibility and high resistance to heat and pressure. In order for them to be able to learn more, the drill will have a video and audio recording device near the drill-bit.
We asked and engineer who worked on the project why this plan would work as opposed to science's failure to reach the core in the past. He said that the drill would not go straight down as most have in the past. Instead the drill would go in at an angle, much like a needle would go into your arm for a shot. The benefit of this would allow easier excavation of rock and the ability to steer clear of obstacles.
