What Is Success??? by Jacki Sellmansberger
As I was working in Kindergarten registration last week, a really cool thing happened to me. I found out I have achieved SUCCESS! I was working with Sawsan Haddad making all the hundreds of copies that are necessary to document all our new little kindergarteners coming in the fall, and as I finished a set of papers, suddenly my copy machine said, “SUCCESS”. I had never noticed that before, but I suddenly felt successful!
I began to think about how wonderful it would be, if at the end of each day, or month, or even year, we had someone tell us, you have achieved SUCCESS! I think it would be much easier to get up in the morning and tackle that same job, or drive that same distance, or work at that same relationship if we actually felt a little successful! Sometimes as we work, or even live with people, we just wonder, am I really making a difference? At the end of the school year, or as you move to a different place in your career, do you feel you have been SUCCESSFUL with what you have been given to do this year? If I am basing my SUCCESS on how I feel on any given day, or if I received a pat on the back from someone or even a note of appreciation, then it’s very likely I will see myself as a loser. We all go through much of our life seldom, if ever, seeing the word, “SUCCESS” after our name. My point is just this: we are all SUCCESSFUL if we fulfill our purpose we have been placed here on earth to accomplish! For each of us, that is different! Be yourself and make a difference for someone today, perhaps even yourself!
James Bartlett (music) had knee surgery last week. Send a little encouragement his way as he comes back to work, despite the uncomfortableness, he is dealing with. Brittney Frazier (K) lost her grandmother recently. Please keep her family in your prayers, as they have had several losses in their family this year. Carol McCluskey’s mother had surgery recently, and Carol is busy trying to help her recover. Did you notice all the extra activities that people have in their lives right now? (Just saying…there are 6 showers in the next 2 weeks!) Congratulations to everyone! And thanks to the A-team and others for all the yummy treats last week!
