Information for Grades 9-12
Greetings from your Principal, Dr. Vanessa Wrenn and the Granville Academy faculty. .
Teacher Contact and Course Access
Each semester your teachers will contact you to introduce themselves and make sure you can access the course in PowerLearning (Haiku) and understand how to begin. Students log-into PowerLearning (sometimes called Haiku) the same way they log-into their GCPS issued Chromebook.
If you are in a NCVPS course, your login will not work until the first day of class. Don’t panic if it doesn’t work before then. NCVPS courses are taught via a platform called CANVAS. Here is an orientation in Canvas you can go through to help you prepare for the first day of class.
Weekly Live Lessons
Weekly Live Lessons are available in all online courses. These sessions are critical to your success and provide you live assistance and/or instruction. Make sure you are in attendance.
Tips for Online Learning
Parents, please review with your students the “Tips for Online Learning”. This will help students to start the semester off well!
Tutoring and Student Online Learning Labs
Tutoring and Labs are available for students. Labs are available to provide a structured place to work with a teacher that is onsite to support their learning. Additionally, students who need high speed Internet are always welcome to come to the lab.
Students who are not on pace to successfully complete the course will be required to attend a lab until they are back on track to pass.
Attention all Juniors!
Granville Academy students in the 11th grade will be taking the ACT on February 20, 2019 beginning at 8:30am at Granville Central High School in room 2500!
