March 29: STAAR Writing Test

The STAAR test is upon us for writing. We are ready to show them what we know! I am really proud of the progress we have made this year. Please help your child be well rested and as prepared as possible on Tuesday, March 29. A healthy breakfast and a good nights sleep does wonders for the brain! The school will supply a small snack however please do send an easy to eat, healthy snack with your child as well. They will not need their backpacks on this day.

The campus will be closed to all visitors on Tuesday, March 29 and Wednesday, March 30 to allow all students the opportunity to take the test.

Donations needed: LEGO Basket for Spring Carnival

A note from our room rep:

Our class is putting together an auction basket for this year’s Spring Fling - a huge carnival and fundraiser for our school. The theme of our basket is LEGO and we need your help, if you are able. If you’d like to donate an item, the following things are needed: Anything to do with Legos. If you would rather make a cash donation for the items needed, you may send it in an envelope, with my name on it, to school with your child. Thank you!

Parking Lot Changes for Drop Off

We have been receiving a number of reports of students who are being dropped off in the parking lot. Students are then left to cross the parking on their own and are making their way to the cross walk. To ensure that our students and families are kept safe, we will be placing cones down to block off all through traffic in the first row of the parking lot closest to the building. The visitors parking spaces will still be available for parking. If you would like to drop off your child, please use the designated lanes in the front of the school.

Think Through Math

Students have a log-in for Think Through Math in their binders. I highly recommend this program as it is aligned with all TEKS and is research based. Students may also come before school to the computer lab to work on Think Through Math. If you are looking for extra practice this is a great resource to use!
