Magers Memo
September 6th
In the assembly I challenged students to practice The Git Up this month in a challenge from the staff. At the conclusion of your September S.H.I.N.E. team meeting, I would love for us to perform this dance for students. You have a month to practice :)
Awesome Week!
This week was "off the charts"! Co-teachers are finding their groove, diving into new curriculum and student behaviors and starting to calm. I am excited to start digging into our BOY data to set goals! I will be sending a link to the Sherwood Mothership soon. When you get the link, please add your BOY data. We will be looking at this data in team meetings. THANK YOU for giving 150% every day. I notice, appreciate you and think this is the BEST staff on the planet.
New:
- Please welcome Lee Chappell as our new part time secretary! Lee has been a part of our staff for the last year, as a substitute in our building but is now permanent! Lee will work Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings and Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. Welcome to the team Lee!
- Next week, you will find thank you cards on the table in the work room. Please sign these-they will be sent to community partners who donated to various things such as the Back to School Bash and our school in general.
- Table washer lanyards will be in your boxes today. Thank you for sending 2 students to lunch with these lanyards on. Our goal is to teach skills necessary to be good citizens. Cleaning up after ourselves is one way to do that. That is our goal when assigning table washers. Please choose however you want and these students will also get a PRIDE ticket from the lunchroom to go in the monthly drawing.
- Please remind students not to bring toys or personal belongings to school. We have had 2 things go missing this week and it all would have been prevented had they not been brought to school.
- If you are on duty in the Media Center, please address parents who walk up with dogs in their hands. We are a "dog free" campus unless they are therapy dogs. If a dog is in a car in car line, that is permissible. Dogs walking up is not, due to risk of students getting bit or pet allergies. Thank you for your help!
- You can click here to see what students learned and celebrated in this month's P.R.I.D.E. Assembly!

Mentor/Mentee
My heart was so warm last week at the kick-off-I have already seen mentors connecting with men-tees and it is AWESOME. Thank you for volunteering to be a hero for a child who really needs a hero. I appreciate each of you!

Reminders from last week's Memo:
Reminders:
- Please click here to upload your master schedule and a link to your lesson plans. This will help me in scheduling observations and also to know what I am seeing when I pop in your classrooms.
- Growth plans should be complete.
- Here is the Illustrative Math Fidelity Check, for your information.
- It's time to start thinking about BOY Fidelity Checks. Please sign-up here for your BOY Fidelity Check.
- Every teacher should have two days of emergency sub plans. Here is the folder that houses the emergency sub plans. Please add your plans by Friday, September 6th. You may also delete sub plans from last year, or edit them for this year. Thank you!
- Drill follow up: Great job on Fire and Intruder Drill this week! We will have an Alice training this year, but until then...please review the "Armed Intruder Exit Plans" that you and your co-teacher created last year after the Alice Training. If you are a new co-teaching partnership you may want to review together to ensure you are both on board with the plan. Here is the folder you put your plans in. Please review and/or update.
