Literacy
In literacy we read many different Dr Seuss books and themed writing activities. We worked on rhyming words, opposites and wrote about the places we’d like to go. March is national reading month so all the grade levels have different reading goals for the month, our class goal is to read 30 books during the month of March.
Math
For math this week we introduced different ways we can measure things and practiced measuring our feet using everyday objects like paper clips and pennies. Students sorted and graphed different colored goldfish and we made sock puppets to help us count by 2s.
Science/Social Studies
In science students had fun making hot air balloons with cups and balloons and then testing them by dropping them off the playground and throwing them into the air outside. Students got to mix colored kool aide to create what color they wanted and then use it dye white socks.
