St Elizabeth's News
NEWSLETTER | TERM 1 | WEEK 3 | 18 FEBRUARY 2022

Rebecca Clarke | Principal
Dear parent and caregivers,
Thank you for another wonderful week, even though it has been a bit warm, and for your understanding towards the ongoing Covid-19 protocols.
As mentioned in last week's newsletter, you would have received an email outlining our Remote Learning Plan, in the event that we need to go down this path. Please be reassured that as a school we are dedicated to supporting all families through this process. I do ask that if you or a family member living in your house has received a positive covid test result or been classed as a close contact and required to isolate, please inform myself as soon as possible. If a positive case is detected within our school community, you will receive a notification via SMS or email from myself or Emma Fernandez, Assistant Principal.
While volunteers, at the moment, are unable to be at school there will be a time when these restrictions lift. As a school we are committed to ensuring St Elizabeth’s is a COVID-19 safe space. The Department of Health has provided clear directions regarding the requirements to keep students, staff members and our community safe. A reminder about the vaccination requirements is as follows;
Parents and caregivers are required to provide vaccination evidence (single dose vaccinated from 1 January 2022 and double dose vaccinated from 31 January 2022) or exemption when:
volunteering at the school more than once a week (this includes volunteering at the school canteen, library duty or an in-class program)
working in an unpaid capacity at the school more than once a week
Parents and carergivers are not required to be vaccinated when:
dropping off or picking up their child from school
volunteering at school on an ad hoc basis
attending an event such as an assembly or parent teacher interview
entering the school after hours.
It’s wonderful to see so many students enjoying our morning fitness on the school oval. Some are taking it very seriously and challenging themselves, while others are enjoying the social aspect of walking and talking. It is a known fact that movement is a great strategy to use with students before formal learning begins in class.
On Wednesday, I was honoured to join Mrs Curtis and her Year 4 students to celebrate the opening school Mass for 2022. I was impressed by the student's reverence during Mass.
Finally, if you know of any families who may be interested in joining our Early Years classes and be part of our wonderful school community, please ask them to contact the Admin Office and come for a tour!
I wish everyone a lovely weekend!
God bless
Rebecca Clarke
Principal
