Wrestling Tops Mountain Brook in Area Dual
Hewitt-Trussville Wrestling competed in their first Region dual of the season Thursday night as they visited Mountain Brook. The Huskies prevailed by the score of 44-29. The Huskies won eight matches on the night and the Spartans won six. Here are the match breakdowns.

Girls Basketball Wins Twice
Coach Tonya Hunter's Girls Basketball team won two games last week to improve to 8-1 overall on the season. Last Tuesday, the Huskies defeated Huffman 63-31. It was the second victory of the season over the Vikings.
On Friday, HT beat Huntsville 44-32 in another home contest. Junior Amiya Payne led the way on offense as she scored 20 points. Erica Jones also had a great game offensively as she contributed 18 points.
This week, the Huskies will travel to Pleasant Grove on Tuesday and Hoover on Friday. The game against the Bucs will be a rematch of the 2019 State Championship game.
The HT Girls JV Basketball team had an exciting 34-33 double overtime win over Huntsville Friday. The Huskies are still undefeated on the season.
Indoor Track Magic City Invitational Recap
Indoor Track season began on Saturday as the Huskies traveled to the Birmingham Crossplex for the Magic City Invitational. The HT Girls finished 6th out of 25 teams and the HT Boys finished 12th out of 28 teams. In total, HT athletes set 41 personal records during the meet.

Bowling Still Perfect in Area Play
Hewitt-Trussville Bowling turned in another impressive performance on Monday to remain perfect in Area play. The HT Boys defeated Center Point 1468-920 to improve to 10-1 overall and 6-0 in Area competition. Joseph Taylor had a game high score of 258 to lead the Huskies. Cole McCarty also broke the 200 mark as he bowled a 235.
The HT Girls beat Center Point 1033-596.The Husky Girls are now 6-2 overall and 4-0 in Area play. Allison Kerins led HT as she bowled a 164.
The Huskies will host St. Clair County on Tuesday in another Area contest.

Student Athletic Pass Pickup Information
In an effort to increase our fan base and make game attendance more affordable, Student Athletic Passes will be available for the second time ever for the 2019-2020 school year. Every student in the district (K-12) will have the opportunity to have their own personalized athletic pass card. With this pass, students will be able to enter ALL HTMS and HTHS home regular season sporting events. The pass is $20 and can be purchased during registration as an item on the activity sheet.

Q. What is the purpose of the Student Athletic Pass?
A. The Student Athletic Pass will be available to ALL students in the district (K-12). Our goal is to make it easier and more affordable for students to attend Hewitt-Trussville sporting events.

A. Students that have their pass can enter ALL HTMS and HTHS home regular season sporting events. Every sport! For the entire 2019-2020 school year!

MS Basketball Weekly Recap
7th Grade Girls:
Coach Morgan Griffin's team went 3-0 in the last week. The Huskies defeated Irondale in an exciting game 39-38. Peyton Hull scored 10 points and Allie Claire Monski scored six points. Later in the week, the Huskies beat Clay 32-4. Peyton Hull scored 11 points and Zaylen Tucker scored nine points. Last night, the Huskies beat Simmons 33-10. Allie Claire Monski scored 17 points and Ryleigh Wood scored six points.
8th Grade Girls:
Coach Todd Carlile's team went 2-1 in the last week. The Huskies beat Irondale 38-6. Aisha Smith scored 14 points and AC Bryant scored eight points. Later in the week, HT fell to Clay 34-25. Last night, HT defeated Simmons 35-12.
7th Grade Boys:
Coach Josh Warren's squad went 2-1 in the last week. The Huskies defeated Irondale 37-20. Grayson Pope and Dave Carter scored 10 points each. Later in the week, the Huskies dropped a match up with Clay. Last night, the Huskies beat Simmons 45-40. Grayson Pope scored 12 points and Hunter Curtis scored nine points.
8th Grade Boys:
Coach Clint Argo's team went 2-1 in the last week. The Huskies defeated Irondale 65-12. A total of 12 Huskies scored in the game. Ka'Darius Barnes and Carson Wideman led the way with eight points each. Later in the week the Huskies beat Clay 54-42. Carson Wideman led the scoring with 23 points. Trace Barlok scored 11 points and Josh Powell added 10 points.Last night, the Huskies fell to Simmons by the score of 43-34.
MS Wrestling Weekly Recap
HTMS Wrestling had a great week as they competed in several matches. The Huskies hosted Liberty Park on December 4 and came away with a 77-6 victory. This weekend, the team traveled to Homewood for the Christmas Duals. he Huskies advanced to the Gold division and finished the weekend with three wins and two losses.

The Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) requires all student-athletes to complete eligibility paperwork each year. For the second year, this process will be done online rather than in paper copy. Any student, wishing to participate in athletics, that will be in grades 7-12 for the 2019-2020 school year will be required to complete this process. Please follow the instructions below to complete these forms for the 2019-2020 school year. Students’ forms for 2019-2020 need to be 100% complete as soon as possible. This is for AHSAA sanctioned sports only.
