Summary of Novel

The novel Walk Two Moons, by Sharon Creech is a story about a 13-year-girl named Salamanca Tree Hiddle, or Sal. She goes on a journey across the country to visit her mother's grave with her grandparents. On the way, she tells Phoebe's story of her disappearing mother, Phoebe, and the lunatic.

Judgements on Mrs. Cadaver

In the novel W2M, Sharon Creech uses judgements to judge Mrs. Cadaver. Sal and Phoebe judge that Mrs. Cadaver is an axe murderer and killed her husband. (Creech 22, 23) Then, they see Mr. Birkway and Mrs. Cadaver hacking away at a rhododendron with axes! (Creech 84) They think she's hiding Mr. Cadaver's body under there. (Creech 85) The truth is that Mr. Cadaver died in a car crash. (Creech 210, 218, 219)

Judgements on Mike Bickle

In this novel W2M, by Sharon Creech, Sal and Phoebe also judge Mike Bickle. He appears one day at Phoebe's porch. They assume he's a lunatic. (Creech 22, 23) When Phoebe's mother disappears, they assume it's him who kidnapped her. Phoebe starts looking for evidence of him kidnapping Mrs. Winterbottom. (Creech 137) The truth is that he is Mrs. Winterbottom's son. (Creech 248)
