Body Image

What is Body Image?

The way one perceives their body and assumes that is how others perceive them.

Today's Media

Body image today is a large problem in high schools and society. Everyone wants to have that "perfect" body with the flawless skin, but what is being shown to the society through the media is not the true model. The media today portrays a very skinny girl with flawless skin, as the "beautiful", but what the viewer does not know is that the very skinny and flawless skinned girl may not be who she really is. These displays of beauty are unrealistic. The unrealistic views of this "beauty" creates millions of people to dislike themselves. The disliking of one's body image can lead to dieting often, or a dangerous thing, called eating disorders.

The "ideal" body, is not so ideal
