Notes from Onondaga Road

Message From The Onondaga Road School Principal
Hello, Onondaga Road Families!
This was a short week which went by quickly, but we have lots of learning going on here at Onondaga Road! I bet you heard stories of our Emergency Responders Day last week, and I know you've seen flyers and notes for upcoming events.
Today was picture day, and I always look forward to school picture day because of the students' cute litte outfits and smiles! We will have a make-up or picture re-take day in December, just in case anyone missed it today. Let us know if you have any questions.
We still need a little help to make our dismissal process be as efficient and safe as possible. Please remember that if you are picking your child up from school in a car, it is most helpful if you stay in your car while waiting for your child, then exit the parking lot promptly once they have gotten safely in the car. If you are walking and waiting for your child out front, be sure to leave promptly so that our buses can pull in and nobody is walking between them. Either way, be sure you have your number tag visible so we can get each student where they need to be efficiently and safely.
Enjoy these beautiful fall days!
Sincerely,
Jeannette Clark
Emergency Responders Day
The morning of October 5 was Emergency Responders Day at Onondaga Road. It was a beautiful day, and we were fortunate to have many guests visit our students: Onondaga County Sheriffs, WAVES Ambulance, Camillus Police, NYS Troopers K-9 Unit, Fairmount Fire Department, and Syracuse City Police SWAT Team. We sincerely thank the emergency personnel for what they do for our community and for taking the day to visit and teach our students. Thanks, too, to Officer Fassinger for helping to facilitate the day's events.
Positivity Project
#PositivityInAction! This week we learned about how other people matter, and that it's important to give others attention and encouragement. Here is a link to the family newsletter from the Positivity Project. Next week we will learn about integrity as a character strength!
