Valerie's Vision
This week, I had a meeting in the media center at PES-I. On a dry erase board was written the following riddle: “If you're facing a stampede of 20 elephants, 13 giraffes and 11 kangaroos how many legs are running at you?”
Sometimes life feels like you are facing that stampede. The last few weeks of school have been jam packed with parent teacher conferences, grandparents night, and committee meetings. At a meeting Thursday morning, the term “lawnmower parents” was explained. These parents mow down any obstacle that their child might face.
Unfortunately, in the real world, we have to face such obstacles, or stampedes if you will.
Fortunately, we now have a week to decompress, and put things in perspective. A little break from the chaos always seems to help us accept challenges and changes more easily.
This fall break, give yourself time to find the truth to the reality of whatever situation you may be in. I’m pretty sure in 100 years from now, our biggest worries will not matter to anyone at all.
“Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don’t resist them- that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.”- Lao Tzu
