Kia ora, Talofa, Malo, Bula, Hola, Ciao, Kamusta po from Sarah Morris Principal

A massive thank you for your patience while the bush track was getting an upgrade and for being kind to our other Frankley drivers during the Tukapa road upgrade. The car park across the road is horrendously busy in the afternoons and all the staff appreciate it when everyone is being considerate and leading by example for our children. The pedestrian crossing is there for the safety of our community, please continue to consistently use it when crossing the road.

Last Friday I had the privilege of watching our chess players take on their primary school counterparts and then our Kapa Haka rōpū in action. For some of our children who were involved in both events it was a big day.

Today is Anna Trinders last day with us for 2019. Anna and her whānau are excited about the arrival of their pēpī (baby) in the next couple of weeks. We wish them all the best. Tania Scott will start on Monday in Tūhono. Tania has been transitioning into the hub over the term.

Hockey

Best of luck to our Year 3 and 4 hockey team who have made the finals. The game is on Saturday 31 August, 12.00pm, at the New Plymouth turf on Hobson Street. Kia ora, good luck!

Tātarakihi Primary Schools Cultural Festival

Our tamariki did us proud once more last Friday evening when they performed at Tātarakihi. The rōpū also performed for the school on Wednesday and were presented with their participation certificate. Their official name is now Ngā Tipuranga o te Kahikātea meaning ‘seedling of Kahikatea’.

Cross Country

See you all on Tuesday for our super cross country. The timetable for the day has been posted on facebook and you can check out the link here. This is a great opportunity for our children to persevere, put their training to the test and for our school to promote active lifestyle choices. Good luck to all our runners and walkers: competitive and fun. The aim is to be moving. We just need the weather to come to the party!
