History Fair Students at North
Congratulations to Anne Proctor's and Krista Lyon's History Fair students at North Forsyth High School. The three students that participated in the History Fair will all move on to the state competition. They earned 1st place in the group presentation and individual paper. Best of luck at state!
Check out this video to see how to use the spreadsheet. If you have any questions, please contact your Instructional Facilitator (IF). IFs have had training on the use of the spreadsheet.
Below is the summary of the county averages for each course.
World History
This week we are finishing up Unit 7, looking at the Reformation, Enlightenment, Scientific Revolution, and political revolutions. Here is a hexagon activity to use for political revolutions.
By the end of the week, we will be moving to industrialization and heading into imperialism next week. Here is a graphic organizer to help students look at the impact geography and natural resources impact industrialization and one on how industrialization and urbanization impacted economic and social reforms.
Civics and Economics
If you are behind by a few weeks and are in Unit 4, there have been a few activities created for that unit. They go with the individual rights piece of Unit 4. One is an overview of the Bill of Rights and the 14th Amendment. And, the other is a sort activity for Supreme Court Cases. Check them out.
American 1
What do we want? Reforms! When do we want them? Now! That is right, we are looking at the reform movements of the 1800s. This will wrap up Unit 4. Here is a reading on the Declaration of Sentiments. And, if you are looking for an activity to do with the students to review, try Scattergories.

Howdy!
I am back and feeling... OK. Woot, Woot!
I hope everything is going well out there in "Springbreak needs to be here ASAP" world.
This Thursday and Friday Courtney and I will be headed to the History Educators Conference in Atlanta. We applied for a grant after attending the August CLC and both were awarded $500 to attend. I hope to learn a few things to bring back and share with you.
Next week, I will be meeting with the teachers that are creating test banks for World and Civics. We will be screening additional questions. It will be exciting to have questions for each objective in each unit available next year.
And, Courtney and I will be meeting with six teachers next Wednesday about the Breakout Boxes we have for each school. Back in November, we received a grant to purchase one breakout kit for each middle and high school and develop economic lessons for these kits. One teacher from each grade, 6th-12th, will create a lesson that will be ready for use with the breakout boxes next year.
As always, please let me know if you need anything.
