QT4 Week 2: March 27-31

Happy Sunday Elementary Coyotes!

We hope you had a wonderful weekend. Thank you for coming out to the community Egg Hunt sponsored by Commissioner Holguin, El Paso Parks and Recreation, & Tornillo ISD.


We have a few events happening this week, please read on for more details.


1. Superintendent Vega-Barrio Message

Our district posted an important message this week about district wide changes for next year. You can find the video link below.


2. Science Fair season is here!

All our Kinder-2nd grade coyotes will be participating in our annual science fair. Each student received a Science Folder in class this week that outlines the science step. Our science fair Coordinator, Ms. Stephanie Mendez will also be providing a Science Fair Information Meeting for all our parents and students who have questions this Wednesday, March 29 from 4:00-5:00.


3. 2023-2024 Pre-Kinder & Kinder New Student Registration

We are excited to announce that our new student registration for 2023-2024 opens April 1. Please help us get the word out that we will be holding our first in-person registration Saturday, April 1 from 9:00-11:00 here at the elementary. Tornillo ISD is an OPEN Enrollment district. PK3 is also available through the Region 19 Head Start that is housed here at our elementary school. Tshirts & backpacks will be provided to the first 50 students who complete their new student registration.


Registration Checklist for All New Students

  • Birth Certificate.
  • Drivers License/Government Issued ID (Parent/Guardian)
  • Immunization Record.
  • Proof of Residency. Utility Bill AND Tax Statement/Lease Agreement OR. Residency Approval Form (Provided by Residency Office)
  • Social Security Card (student)


4. Donations Needed: Student Easter Egg Hunt - Wednesday, April 5.

We would like to hold our annual Easter Egg Hunt this year for all our PK-2nd grade students. We are kindly asking for donations of medium or large size plastic eggs and candy to fill the plastic eggs. If you are able to donate any of those items, please send your donations to your child's teacher by Friday, March 30th. Thank you for your help.


5. Attendance Contest - Be at school everyday from March 20-May 11 & win a fieldtrip!

Attendance for Week 9: Feb 27-March 3

Pre-Kinder: 93. 39%

Kinder: 93.28%

1st Grade: 94.5%

2nd Grade: 94.4%

Total: 94.15%

-breakfast available, 7:30-7:50

-transportation available for students that regularly take the bus

-Don't forget to choose the enrichment class that you would like to attend
