Mrs. Foulk's News
11/21/14
Important Dates:
11/25: Field Trip
11/26-11/28 No School (Thanksgiving Break)
This Week:
Math: We have now been introduced to all of the properties of multiplication. These kiddos are really doing a fantastic job of persevering through difficult math problems.
Writing: The writers have learned how to capture a reader's interest by beginning their memoir with a lead. We also discussed how good writers end a story.
Reading: We have wrapped up our traditional literature unit. Students can define and explain what makes a story a fairy tale. They can follow characters through a story. Find the theme within a story and compare and contrast different texts.
Friendly Reminders:
Please try to send students to school with coats, gloves and hats. We do have indoor recess if the wind chill is too cold, however, there were several days this week that we went outside as well.
If you signed up to send a lunch with your student on Tuesday, please make sure to do so. I had to send a list of names to the cafeteria with their lunch choices already. If you decide that you can't send a lunch, email me as soon as possible so that I can let the cafeteria know.
