Dear Parent/Guardian,
The purpose of this letter is to inform you that your child, Antara Kundu, is scheduled to take the Model Testing for ELLs within a ninety minute time slot on Wednesday, September 23, 2020. The Model Test measures your student’s progress in listening, speaking, reading, and writing English language skills. This test will help the school to determine the best schedule for your child.
School districts that receive Title III funds must annually assess all English Language Learners with assessment tests. This includes ELLs whose parents have declined language assistance program services as stated in the Elementary and Secondary Education Act Section 3113. The New Jersey Department of Education states for students in grades K through 12, an ACCESS for ELLs 2.0 proficiency level of 4.5 or higher is recommended for exiting a program if multiple criteria support the decision. If your child will be taking the Model Test for ELLS, a student can be eligible for exit. The Model Test for ELL’s is one of our multiple measures for assessing student progress and exiting students from the English as a Second Language program.
The date and time for your student to report is a follows:
Thursday, October 29 - 7:30am - 9:00am
Please report to the school’s main vestibule at least fifteen (10) minutes prior to your testing time.
PLEASE NOTE: A mask is required to be worn upon entering the building.
If you have any questions related to this test administration or you have a conflict with the provided time slot, please call me at the number below.
Sincerely,
Brian Stolarick
