Figurative Language-
You are using figurative language any time you compare two things: imagery, simile, metaphor, alliteration, personification, onomatopoeia, hyperbole
~It was organized chaos in room 115.
Tone-
the general character or attitude of a piece of writing (what the author feels)
~As I wrote the book I felt angry.
~The author felt angry as she wrote her book.
Mood-
the atmosphere or pervading tone of something (what the reader feels)
~The story made me feel sad.
~The tone used in the story created a sad mood.
Rhyme Scheme-
the ordered pattern of rhymes at the ends of the lines of a poem or verse
~Roses are red.
Violets are blue.
I'm out of my head
with thinking of you.
~The poem had an ab rhyme scheme.
Verse-
writing arranged with a metrical rhythm, typically having a rhyme: a group of lines that form a unit in a poem or song; a stanza
~Twinkle, twinkle, little star,
How I wonder what you are.
Up above the world so high,
Like a diamond in the sky.

How I wonder what you are!
