If your student had an individual Spring Picture taken on Tuesday, he/she should receive a card today or tomorrow with a personal pass code to view and order the pictures online.

Pi Day Contests:
Poem contest: A $10 gift card will be awarded to the middle school student and to the high school student judged to have written the best original Haiku, Pi-ku (like a haiku but with a 3/1/4 syllable pattern), or Limerick that is related to Pi. All poems must be turned into your math teacher by 3:14 on Tuesday, March 13th. They will be judged by a group of English teachers and the winners will be announce on Pi day.
Mystery contest: A $10 gift card will be awarded to the middle school and high school winners of a mystery contest to take place Wednesday morning. Any student who wants to participate needs to be in the gym at 7:45am on Pi day. The contest will take 3 minutes and 14 seconds and does not involve math skills.
Hula Hoop contest: A $10 gift card will be awarded to the middle school student and to the high school student who can keep a Hula Hoop going the longest. The contest will take place during the lunch periods at a location near the cafeteria. A student may have multiple attempts depending on how many students want to compete.
Digits of Pi contest: A $10 gift card will be awarded to the 6th-12th grade student who can recite from memory the most digits (in order) of the decimal form of Pi without any significant pauses. It must be witnessed by an available Westminster math teacher on Pi day before school, during lunch, or during study period.

March 9: Friday, Junior Varsity and Varsity Baseball play at Wilson beginning at 4:30pm. Middle School Boys Soccer play at Liberty beginning at 5:30pm.
March 10: Saturday, Varsity Baseball play at home vs. DHCA & Cleveland (3 games) beginning at 10:00am. Varsity Girl (12:30) and Varsity Boy (2:00) Soccer play at home vs Lee. Varsity Girl and Varsity Boy Tennis teams play in the Russellville Tournament.
March 12: Monday, Junior Varsity Girls Tennis versus Randolph at Dublin Park at 4pm. Middle School Baseball plays at Madison Academy (double header) beginning at 4:30pm. Middle School Boys Soccer versus Randolph play at home at 5pm. Varsity Boy Tennis plays at Madison County at 4pm.
March 13: Tuesday, Junior Varsity Girls Tennis plays at Dublin at 4pm versus Madison County. Junior Varsity and Varsity Baseball play at Randolph beginning at 4:30pm. Varsity Softball plays at home versus Mars Hill at 4:30pm. Varsity Girl and Varsity Boy Soccer plays at Randolph at 5pm and 7pm. Varsity Girl Tennis versus Jemison High School at Dublin at 4pm. Varsity Boys Tennis plays at Decatur Heritage at 4pm. Middle School Boys Soccer play at Oakwood, time TBD. Golf Team competes at Valley Hill CC versus Randolph at 3:30pm.

Five Middle School Choral students will go to the All-State Festival in Birmingham on March 8th and 9th. Congratulations to the Concert Choir on receiving 4 Superiors at the State Performance Choral Assessment last Thursday!
Congratulations to all Upper DI teams for a great showing at the regional tournament on Saturday. All three team are advancing to the state competition on April 7th.
The WCA Speech and Debate Team had another outstanding finish to their regular season competition circuit at the Deep South District Tournament in Mountain Brook, AL this weekend. This was a Nationals qualifying tournament where the top two competitors in each event are invited to represent the state of Alabama at the National Speech and Debate Association's National Tournament in June.
Seniors Christine Thompson, Erykah Jenkins, and Zoe Landers all qualified for this year's national competition in Ft. Lauderdale, FL! This is the second year they have qualified for nationals! Christine won 1st place in both dramatic interpretation and original oratory and has chosen to compete in dramatic interpretation at the national tournament. Zoe and Erykah won 2nd place in duo interpretation and will compete in that event at the national competition.
Congratulations, ladies! These awards mean that you are among the top 3% in the nation of high school students who compete in speech and debate!

Achievement Testing Information
Middle School parents, as you schedule those long range medical visits for your children, please do not schedule appointments for April 16th - April 20th, 2018. End of the year achievement testing will take place on those days.
