Reminders:
- Please make sure your child has completed their math assignment each day. Students usually get time in class to work on their assignment, if not it becomes homework.
- Check out your child's planner to see what they are learning each day!
- Want to know how your child is doing at school? Look at the Pirate Privilege chart located at the front of their planner. This is where letters are taken for behavior, incomplete/late work, and tardiness.

Quality Student - October
Mrs. Seevers shared some big news last week...
What's Happening?
Math
If you feel your student is struggling on math concepts, or you wish for them to have extra practice, have them get on Prodigy. Log-in username and passwords were sent out last week to each student. If you are not familiar with Prodigy, it is an interactive game that most students enjoy to play that helps students practice math concepts! Click here to go to the website.
DO NOT FORGET - Students should be getting on Reflex Math at least 3 times a week until they achieve 100 percent fluency. Once they reach 100 percent fluency, they only have to get on once a week. Click here to go to the website.
ELA
Please continue to encourage your child to read at home 30 minutes a night during the week. It is crucial to showing adequate growth in your child's reading this school year. If you feel your child is not bringing home quality books from the library that are on his/her reading level, please do not hesitate to reach out to me and I can double check what books they may be checking out from the library.
Please look for a progress report coming home this evening with data notebooks to let you know where your child is on their WIG for 2nd quarter. (wildly important goal)
Science
Social Studies
We wrapped up our mayor elections this week for our upcoming field trip, and I am proud to announce that Jonny is our 2018 Mayor at the school of economics. All students who participated this week did such an amazing job! The students worked hard at campaigning, and worked even harder on writing and delivering their speeches. I have never seen such a dedicated group of students.
Our field trip will be December 3, and I am very grateful for those of you who have volunteered to come along. This is a very fun day for the kids, and the adults, and we still have room for more volunteers. Please contact Mrs. Garcia if you are interested in going!
We have covered all terms students will need to know for economics, and the vocabulary is what students will be tested over. This test will be the week after Thanksgiving break, likely on November, 29. Students should be studying the vocabulary at home, as much of our class time will be spent prepping for our businesses for the field trip. If you wish to study with your child, he/she should have a packet with all terms that they took notes on, in their trappers.
