"From The Farm To The Bookshop"

Oliver Twist has lived a long and difficult life with many struggles. He was born on Parish Farms and his mother died soon after. As soon as Oliver reaches the age of 9, he is put to work at the farms along with other orphans that were born at Parish Farms. One night, he is dared by the other boys to ask for seconds, and Oliver is kicked out for being "disrespectful". Oliver runs away to London by foot, which takes him 7 days. He nearly collapses on the floor. He is recruited to join a ring of child thieves, but Oliver doesn't know it at the time of joining. He is put under the care of Fagin, the adult responsible for the thieves. On his first mission, Oliver meets a noble bookseller named Mr. Brownlow and is taken under the man's wing. Oliver finally has a good home. Soon after, the thieves snatch him away. He then continues to live with Fagin and the thieves, but miserably. He is idle, because he is not allowed to go to any more missions because the thieves fear that he will run away. He must steal from Mr. Brownlow's house. Oliver doesn't want to, and he can't steal from the man that has been so kind to him. Bob, a man who works with Fagin plots to kill Oliver for ruining the "Brownlow Mission". Nancy, a nice woman helps Mr. Brownlow find Bob. Mr. Brownlow makes sure that Bob is put in prison along with Fagin. Considering that this is not a petty matter, they are both sentenced to the death penalty. Oliver is then able to go with Mr. Brownlow and live a happy life.

"How The Carp Showed Perseverance"

A kid named Rosetsu was walking home from his art class feeling feeling down because he wasn't a very good painter. He came across a carp trying to get a biscuit, or sembei, that was a little bit out of his reach. The carp's scales were torn and bleeding, but he kept on trying to get the biscuit. He was eventually able to get the sembei. This deeply inspired Rosetsu and it deeply inspires me as well. There are a couple of simple steps that we can take to become like the carp. First, we need to never give up. This seems very easy, but when we're close to failure, it becomes one of the hardest things in the world. We can be so close to succeeding, but give up because we think that failure is in our near future. Next, you need to set goals. If you have goals, then you will have something to work towards and you'll be determined to achieve your goals. You need to have a conviction. Finally, the most important step on your road to perseverance is believing in yourself. If you don't believe that you can, then who will? You need to know that you can do it and you will succeed in whatever you put your mind to. If you follow these three simple steps, you will be a determined person with ambition.

What is Autism?

Temple is diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, or simply Autism. It is a group of complex disorders of brain development. Roots of autism are shown in very early brain development, but symptoms are shown at ages 2-3. About 1 in every 68 American children are diagnosed with autism. It is 5 times more common in boys than it is in girls. Cases of autism vary from child to child in terms of ability. Children with autism are generally very creative and excel in fields such as music, math, and art.

What Causes Autism?

The cause of autism is not easy to define. Scientists have been researching this issue for a long time. There is no particular cause, considering that every case is different. We have found that autism risk genes and environmental factors influence early brain development. Certain events prior to the birth such as advanced parental age, maternal illnesses during pregnancy, and certain difficulties during birth involving oxygen deprivation combined with genetic risk factors, risk is moderately increased.
