"How The Carp Showed Perseverance"
A kid named Rosetsu was walking home from his art class feeling feeling down because he wasn't a very good painter. He came across a carp trying to get a biscuit, or sembei, that was a little bit out of his reach. The carp's scales were torn and bleeding, but he kept on trying to get the biscuit. He was eventually able to get the sembei. This deeply inspired Rosetsu and it deeply inspires me as well. There are a couple of simple steps that we can take to become like the carp. First, we need to never give up. This seems very easy, but when we're close to failure, it becomes one of the hardest things in the world. We can be so close to succeeding, but give up because we think that failure is in our near future. Next, you need to set goals. If you have goals, then you will have something to work towards and you'll be determined to achieve your goals. You need to have a conviction. Finally, the most important step on your road to perseverance is believing in yourself. If you don't believe that you can, then who will? You need to know that you can do it and you will succeed in whatever you put your mind to. If you follow these three simple steps, you will be a determined person with ambition.
