From the Principal
Greetings Owl families,
I hope you enjoyed the virtual spirit week! I loved seeing the pictures on our Padlet. I won't be removing the Padlet, so you can still add photos or view what's there if you want. Here is the link Virtual Spirit Week. Thanks to all who participated! This week was so much fun for me. I was able to join in on several group calls. It brought so much joy to interact with the students! From sharing about their favorite game, to learning how to share the talk space with friends, to bringing their cute toys and pets to the screen to show off, I loved every moment. I look forward to doing this weekly. Like so many of our staff, I have missed the face-to-face interactions with students. While it's not the same, it's the best we can offer in the circumstances. Thank you for supporting and making sure your child logs on with classmates.
For those of you wanting or needing more books for reading at home, we have an online book fair coming up. There are a lot of great choices our staff has recommended. Be sure to check it out. Finally, next week is National Teacher Appreciation. Although we celebrated our teachers in February, parents lookout for a separate email from me regarding celebrating our teachers next week. Have a great weekend.

Music Google Doodle
Here’s a musical tidbit for students and their grown-ups to enjoy.
Today’s Google Doodle is featuring the Theremin – an early electronic musical instrument. If you play the Doodle game that goes along with it, there is an easy and fun echo lesson.
First graders may recognize the tune – it’s “The Swan” from Carnival of the Animals!
