Change of Learning Environment Hardship
Recently as a result of Covid cases continuing to rise in Georgia, many parents are apprehensive about sending their child(ren) to school face to face. Consequently, I am receiving emails to switch student(s)’ learning environments from face to face instruction to remote (virtual) learning. Please note that there is a new process that started this semester per Fulton County Schools directives. Any changes for your child’s learning environment have to be approved by the Area Superintendent, Dr. Cherisse Campbell. Below you will find the steps to request a change in learning environment hardship.
- Parent contacts the school requesting a change of learning environment hardship.
- School provides the parent with an electronic hardship application that must be completed in its entirety by the requesting parent.
- Parent sends the completed and signed hardship form back to the school.
- The principal signs off for approval.
- The principal sends the hardships to the Area Superintendent for approval.
- Once approval is received, parents are notified of the change approval.
Student COVID-19 report portal updates
The Fulton County Board of Health and Fulton County Schools have developed an on-line portal for FCS parents/guardians to report student COVID-19 related cases. The portal can be found at www.fultonschools.org/ReportCOVID. Please make a report to the FCBOH when your student is COVID-19 positive, has a pending COVID-19 test result, or has been in direct contact with a COVID-19 positive person. Please let me know if you are completing an official report to the FCBOH. Lastly, to ensure the protection of our school community, please do not allow your child to attend school or school-sponsored events when he/she is ill and/or has any of the above COVID-19 concerns.
Again, I want to encourage you all to attend our Virtual Parent Update Meeting on January 27th from 5:00- 6:00 PM and our Title I Math Strategy Workshop from 6:00-7:00 PM. There is a ton of information to be shared and I want to give parents the opportunity to ask questions as needed.
As always, I want to thank you all for staying connected to Brookview. Please stay safe, following social distancing guidelines, and wear your mask. Don’t forget to check out www.fultonschools.org, Class Dojo, and Brookview’s website for updates.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Your Principal and Partner,
Jovita G. Wallace

Brookview Parent & Family Engagement Plan and School-Family Compacts
Greetings Parents and Families,
Attached below, you will find our school wide Parental and Family Engagement Policy, which has been developed jointly with, and agreed on with, parents of children participating in the Title I, Part A programs. This policy was adopted by Brookview Elementary School on October 2, 2020 and will be in effect for the period of 2020-2021 school year. Brookview Elementary will distribute this policy to all parents of participating Title I, Part A children on or before October 15, 2020 and will be placed on the school website.
Also attached you will find Brookview's School-Family Compact, which was jointly developed by our teachers and parents. The compact outlines the shared responsibilities of parents, students, teachers, and administrators for student academic achievement. The compact also outlines how the school and parents will develop a partnership for student success. School-Family compacts will be placed on the school website at the beginning of the year.
Please review this information with your student(s).
