Flashback Friday CTAE Edition
February is CTAE month, and TCCHS offers students 8 programs with 20 pathway options. This year alone, of 1546 student enrolled at TCCHS, 1204 of them are taking a CTAE course. Recent data has also shown that the graduation rate for students involved in Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE) has risen to 94.9 percent in Georgia.
The newest CTAE facility, the PREP Academy, was built in 2009, and opened in January 2010. During it's construction, extensive renovation of the existing CTAE classrooms was also completed. In 2016, the PREP Academy was renamed the Lee M. Bailey PREP Academy in memory of its inaugural director.
In the past 10 years, we have
- added 3 new programs - Automotive Technology, Welding and Information Technology
- completed Industry Certification in 6 programs - Automotive Technology, Audio Video Technology and Film, Business, Early Childhood Education, Health Science and Welding
- won several region, state and national competitions through our student organizations - FBLA, FFA, FGE, HOSA, and SkillsUSA
- expanded our work-based learning program to include a full-time coordinator
- strengthened our business program with the addition of the student-based enterprise, The Nest
- helped thousands of students earn high school credit and connect their academic and career skills to the workplace
Join us in celebrating CTAE month with a few flashback photos. Can you pinpoint the year in which these were taken?
