Upcoming and Continuing Units of Study

We have started looking at Figurative Language and studying different ways it is used to make a point and emphasize your meaning. Students will be tested on the types of figurative language at the end of next week.

We have been learning antonyms and starting to explore what Narrative Non-Fiction looks like as a writer.

Word Study

Students took a pretest on Sort #21, and the test over these words will be Wednesday. New word study words will be introduced Thursday. Every student was given a list of spelling/word study words and the days they will be tested for the whole nine weeks to keep in their folders. We hope this will make the process easier for all!

We are finishing our unit on decimals with multiplying and dividing decimals. A new link for the decimal units Math Resource Round-Up was sent out and is also linked below. Remember this is a living document and updates as we move through the unit. The test is tentatively planned towards the end of next week. A study guide will be given out at the beginning of next week.

We will be finishing with the second half of our Reconstruction after the Civil War unit. The reconstruction test is planned for next Wednesday. There is also a link to the Quizlet below.
