Vol. 2, Issue 4 - September 8, 2019
The students enjoyed getting to play outside in the mornings this week and we look forward to our Patriotic Assembly on Wednesday. We encourage everyone to join us and to wear Red, White and Blue as we honor those that have served for our country. Here at Folsom we strive to have as much communication to you as possible and if we ever fall short of that, please don't hesitate to reach out.
PTO Membership Drive
Hello Fierce Folsom Families!!
Next week, PTO is launching our membership drive for the 2019-2020 school year with a grade level contest. Here are the details on how you can enter the contest:
Visit our website at www.folsomelementarypto.com and complete the online membership form along with your $25 household membership payment before the end of the school day (2:50 pm) on September 13th.
Fill out the membership form, attach your cash or check, and return it to your child's teacher no later than the end of the school day (2:50 pm) on September 13th.
**When filling out your membership information please include all children you have attending Folsom, along with their grade level.**
If you have already joined PTO, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! Please know that your membership will still be counted towards your child's class total.
IT’S REALLY THAT SIMPLE!!! Once you have completed the form you can feel satisfied in knowing that you have helped support your child, your individual child's class, and your child's school all in about 5 minutes time!!
Now for the fun part...the REWARD!!!
The grade level with the most PTO memberships by the end of school (2:50 pm) on September 13th will win extra recess & popsicles for their whole grade!!
**If your child's class does not win the extra recess/popsicle membership drive, they are still winners because your membership money supports their 2 yearly parties (please note we do not collect additional party funds); their grade level t-shirts; and teacher mini grants which support their teacher’s classroom.
The winners will be announced at Friday Folsom Live on 9/27.
Thank you again for supporting Folsom Elementary and our PTO!!

Shopping at Amazon or Kroger? Have Box Tops that need to be turned in? See how you can help Folsom below!
The Box Tops for Education program is changing the way we can earn cash for our school!
· Over the summer, participating brands have begun to change their packaging from the traditional Box Tops clip to the new Box Tops label. Going forward, instead of clipping from packages and checking expiration dates, Box Tops will be earned digitally by scanning your receipt.
· The new app features state-of-the-art technology that allows you to scan your store receipt, find participating products and instantly add Box Tops to our school's earnings online.
· If you still have traditional Box Tops clips at home, make sure to send them to school when we send home collection sheets in October and February! We will still earn cash for all clipped Box Tops until they expire. Better yet, you can “double dip” during the packaging transition by clipping traditional Box Tops AND scanning your store receipt containing participating products
Amazon donates 0.5% of the price of your eligible AmazonSmile purchases to the charitable organization of your choice.
AmazonSmile is the same products, same prices, same service as Amazon.
Support Folsom Elementary PTO by starting your shopping at http://smile.amazon.com.
Kroger is committed to helping our communities grow and prosper. Year after year, local schools, churches and other nonprofit organizations will earn millions of dollars through Kroger Community Rewards

Folsom Fierce Obstacle Challenge
Parents and Families—this year’s main fundraiser is the FOLSOM FIERCE OBSTACLE CHALLENGE! It’s a two-week program that kicks off with a Pep Rally on WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 25TH. Families will then gather pledges for every obstacle your student completes at the FOLSOM FIERCE OBSTACLE COURSE, which will happen on FRIDAY, OCTOBER 4TH. This year our goal is to raise $70,000 for a Shade Sail and Educational Programs, and we need your help!
Students will also experience an amazing character theme, MINDSPARK: WILD WEST! Booster’s most exciting theme yet combines S.T.E.A.M. skills (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) with character-building. While they're teaming up with the MindSpark Kids to save Dr. Shock, our students will learn five character traits that will help strengthen themselves and our world.
Donations will go toward a Shade Sail and Educational Programs. The entire two-week experience. So please help our school by getting pledges from family and friends and entering them on FUNRUN.COM. Also, all families are invited to come out and cheer on our students at the FOLSOM FIERCE OBSTACLE CHALLENGE. Thanks so much for your support!
If you plan on attending, you can go ahead and sign-up for a Fast Pass.
*All fast passes stop taking names at 10pm two days prior to event.
*Fast Passes will be printed 1 day prior to event.
