Mrs. Moore's Class Weekly Update
February 15-19, 2016
MATH
Unit 5 is all about fractions. We will be decomposing fractions, as well adding and subtracting fractions and mixed numbers in number stories.
LITERACY
Our literacy unit continues to focus on Tall Tales. We are writing our own Tall Tales now and will be publishing them so be on the lookout for those!
We finished our Literature Circles so we will be working on lap books to show our knowledge of the book.
SCIENCE/ SOCIAL STUDIES
In Social Studies, we are still studying the Civil Rights Movement. We have created a class time line so students can see the creation of our nation.
In Science, we are working on our weather unit. We will be focusing on climate and the difference between climate and weather. We will also continue to fill in our weather journal charting the weather daily and looking at weather patterns.
Please encourage your child to watch the weather on TV or look at it in the newspaper. It's great for them to have exposure to weather terms!
