Third Estate
The third estate calls itself the national assembly and believes that it represents the french people and want change with equal rights. June 17th 1789
Louis tries to escape
Louis XVI tries to escape France from the reforms but he is caught at the border and arrested. June 1791
New Constitution
The National Assembly writes a constitution which strips the king of many of his powers and made a legislative body which could make new laws. Louis XVI approved the new constitution. September 1791.
War
Other countries wanted France to be a monarchy again so the legislative army starts a war and attack the royal palace. Marat took control and executed Louis XIV at the guillotine. January 21 1793
End of the Revolution
Robespierre takes over and starts the rein of terror where many people die at the guillotine. The National Assembly executes Robespierre to end the rein of terror. They make a new government where most power goes to the upper middle class. July 28 1794.
