Week at a Glance
Marian Central Catholic High School Faculty Newsletter
May 18, 2019
This week was full of celebrations, both in the fine arts and the athletic realms! Tuesday and Wednesday provided a wonderful cumination of our band and choral students' accomplishments as they played their final concerts of the year and were presented with a variety of awards. Thursday was the Fine Arts Awards night. We celebrated our theater and visual arts students through a variety of awards and even two presentations of senior final projects from our Theater 2 class that were absolutely amazing! The night was completed with the induction of the new Thespian members as well as a wonderful recognition of our seniors. We are also very excited to hear the results from this weekend's state track meet... and can't wait to celebrate our students' successes!
A big shout out to Mrs. Hilton and Mr. Kruse as they navigated all of the AP testing throughout the last two weeks! This was no easy task! There are a few makeups, which may interrupt a student's schedule here or there this coming week. If you are affected, you will be receiving an email indicating who and what the plan is. Thank you for cooperating!
Thank you to our faculty who have been working so hard throughout the year on aligning curriculum. This year's goal was to complete all of the Year Long Plans (YLPs) for each course taught. I am pleased to say that a good majority of YLPs are set. This will really set the stage for clarifying the curriculum taught in each course and allows teachers to now focus on developing solid UBDs for each unit taught.
Miss Gallagher has been working diligently with all departments as they reflect on their technlogy goals for this school year. Most are completed... thank you. For the few departments that are not done, please make sure that you meet with Miss Gallagher to compelte this important task.
The week ended with our yearly Honors Day assembly. It was a wonderful experience to hear all of the accomplishments of the class of 2019!
Looking ahead...
We have a busy couple of weeks ahead of us! I am thankful that we have such a strong Staffulty team that can manage it all!
Details on the upcoming exams and end of year information is listed in sections below for your convenience. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out.
The 2019-20 Master Schedule is now complete! As happens every year, there are some student schedule conflicts so Guidance is working hard to meet with these students within the last days of this school year to try and iron them out before the students leave for the summer. Thank you for being flexible if Guidance asks to meet with a student. Please also know that although I am sharing the 2019-20 schedule with you today, if any changes are needed, I will be notifying you individually.
Have a wonderful week!
