Malala Yousafzai
Activist for female education.
Malala Yousafzai was born on 12 July 1997 in Mingora,Pakistan.She became an advocate for women's rights to education in North West Pakistan.In 2009 she began writing an anonymous diary published by the BBC about living in Pakistan lead by the Taliban.This caused a death threat against her.
On October 9 2012 while boarding her school bus a gunman fired 3 shots at Malala.she was shot in the forehead and left in critical condition but luckily survived.This didn't stop her from standing up for what she believed in.
On her 16th birthday she delivered a speech at the United Nations about women's rights to education.She also published an auto bioography titled "I am Malala" in 2013.In her speech she stated "All I want is an education and I am afraid of no one.
She was awarded many different awards for her work such as the international children's peace prize and the mother Teresa award.In 2014 she became the youngest person to ever receive a Nobel peace prize.
She now lives in Birmingham,England with her family.The Taliban were threatening to kill Malala and moving out of the country was the best option.She admitted that she misses her friends and feels lonely.She continues to stay in touch with her friends from Pakistan.
