Spain's Flag
Spain's flag consists of a red and yellow triband where the yellow strip is twice as tall as the red stripes and the smaller version of the Spanish coat of arms on the yellow stripe. The Spanish coat of arms are two crown top pillars of Hercules with a display of the "PLUS ULTRA" motto and the two columns hold up a shield that display a castle, red and yellow vertical strips, chain mail, a lion wearing a crown and three fleure-de-lis inside an oval right in the center, and finally a crown of red and gold sits upon the shield. The PLUS ULTRA motto means More Beyond, which represents Columbus' discovery of the New World. Spain's pledge to the flag is called the Jura de Bandera. Jura de Bandera means the "oath of the flag".
