Harding's Happenings
Are you ready for a great year?
Welcome to 5th Grade!
The first newsletter is always the longest. My apologies!
About Me as an Educator
My main goal as your child's teacher is to be their number one supporter at school. I am constantly looking to improve and find innovative and engaging teaching techniques to try in the classroom. It's important for me to get to know each child and how they think and learn. I also believe it's important for my students to know me as a person, as well as their teacher (I hope they think I'm as funny in the classroom as I do! hehe ).
I stay relevant and up to date in my teaching practices by attending various workshops and connecting with educators around the country throughout the summer. I've participated in several webinars this summer to improve and keep current with my math student centered approach. I'm a huge advocate of teaching digital citizenship in 5th grade. I will do lessons throughout the year to help them navigate this digital world they have been born and raised in.

To my Students
I suggest you check out my eBoard, I update it daily. There is a note titled "Click this Tab!" it's your opportunity to tell me a bit about yourself. I would love to learn a few things about you before the school year starts.

Donors Choose
Exciting news from 5H… we’re ready for flexible seating! This school year (and for years to come), I want to ensure that my students have what they need to succeed, so I've created a request on a 501(c)3 charity website called DonorsChoose.org.
I'm writing to ask for any donations possible for my students - no matter the size (seriously, every little bit counts).
If you can't donate anything at this time, no worries... just share this information with anyone who you know is passionate about education. Your donation will have a direct impact on at least 22 students this year and you'll hear back from our class about your impact!
Here’s my classroom request, click the link below:
Please feel free to send me any questions you may have, and know that my students and I greatly appreciate your support.
Here is an article about flexible seating.
