Important Information
Thanks for taking the time to read this and stay in the know!
~ MAPS Student Support Video #1 & #2: We're here for you: Please take a moment to watch the first and second video in a four part video series designed to help support ALL during this crazy, challenging time. It's not just students who need to hear these messages, but the adults supporting those students, too. Check it out here and here. Please take the time to watch these, especially if you find yourself struggling with any number of things--they are worth it, AND they let you know you are not alone.
~ A really important message from Mankato Area Public Schools Transportation Office: We have experienced many changes in the past few months due to COVID-19. One item that has been affected in the Transportation Office is the registration for transportation for fall 2020-21.
With the closure of our school and office buildings, we are unable to complete our paper registration for transportation that typically takes place in May. We are offering parents the opportunity to register for fall busing via email during the months of May and June.
ACTION NEEDED: If your student(s) are eligible for busing for fall 2020-21, and plan on utilizing bus services, please email tbaumg1@isd77.org the following information:
Student(s) name
Student's home address
Student's school and grade beginning September 2020
Parent name
Parent phone number
One email listing all eligible students in your family will successfully register the students for busing.
~ Photos: Remember, this week I am on the hunt for photos and/or short video clips of how kids are embracing Habit #4: Think Win Win. If you have anything to share, please do--maybe your kiddo will be featured in next week's video message! Or just share something they are learning or doing--those are great, too! Email is best: ahagge1@isd77.org.
~ Summer Backpack Food Information & Sign Up: Backpack Food Program is opening enrollments for their Summer Feeding. Students will receive a box of food delivered directly to their homes (via a delivery service partner), and it will contain all weekend food items (breakfast, lunch, and snack) for that month. Backpack's first box will cover weekends from June 6th - July 5th and the cut-off date for enrolling for this box is May 26th. Enrollment will be open all summer, but they'll have cut-off dates so they'll know exactly how much needs to be packed up. Families can be signed up/enrolled here: https://forms.gle/9GijweiVPTfqG3gPA
~ End of the Year: We are working to formulate a plan for personal belonging pick up, chromebook turn in, distribution of yearbooks & art projects, celebrating and honoring our Raccoons, etc., etc., etc. There is much to figure out--just know we are working on details, and when we have those details figured out, we will communicate our plans with all of you. Stay tuned!
