Burnet Elementary STREAM Magnet

February Newsletter

Ahoy from the Burnet STREAM Team!'

We are celebrating two things this February -- Black History Month and National Magnet School Month!

Black history is American history, and we are proud to be learning about some of the incredible contributions made by Black Americans, past and present. Our Annual Peacemakers Essay Competition is underway and our students will be writing about the exciting impacts that young Black Americans are making right now.

February is also #MagnetSchoolMonth! Magnet schools like ours offer high quality, rigorous, and specialized programs, to inspire students from all walks of life and prepare them for college and the workforce. Burnet aims to do this with arts and STEM integration through our STREAM-focused curriculum.

Please continue to help us in the following ways:

- Wear your mask every day!

- Bring your district-issued Chromebooks with you to school each day

- Parents, please take note of our dismissal procedures below-- we are working on making this process faster and we appreciate your continued cooperation!

Please stay tuned for important dates and information, as this newsletter will be updated throughout the month to help you stay informed.

Wishing you a happy new year!
